Daka Exchange 2026_2027

Inquiries into Peace & Sustainability – A Learning Journey between Dar es Salaam/Tanzania & Hamburg

Call for Applications
Daka Network invites participants from Dar es Salaam and Hamburg to apply for a learning journey that brings together professional development and questions of systemic change.
By bringing together eight participants from each city, we leverage potential for long term collaborations in addressing local issues. Each part contains workshops, expert meetings and cultural events, as well as excursions.

Some of our core questions will be: How do we live together? How do we address structural inequalities? How do we relate across difference? And how do we co-create more just futures in our respective contexts and beyond? Rather than offering ready-made answers, we offer a shared space for inquiry and understanding of our varied contexts.

The learning Journey
The program consists of two interconnected parts:
Part I: Dar es Salaam and surroundings: 9–22 november 2026 plus travel days
Part II: Hamburg and surroundings: September 2027 (exact dates to be confirmed)
Participants are expected to attend at least 70% of the learning activities in their respective hometown.
